The House occupies an elevated position overlooking Lough Sheelin on the eastern shore.

The property has extensive frontage to the lake via a sheltered bay formed in part by our own island, Dinner Island. The bay is quite shallow providing ideal boat moorings and access to our Marina.

The Lake provides excellent facilities for boating, bathing and sailing as well as superb fly fishing for trout. There are also opportunities for rough shooting; clay shooting; and wild fowling, with Dinner Island and our secluded bay providing an excellent location for duck shoots.

The property is approximately 2 miles from the nearest village, Mount Nugent, and 1 mile from the nearest County Road. The House is approached via a private lane across farmland. We have a permanent right of way shared with four other residents who use the lane.

The location is very private and offers absolute peace and tranquillity.

Mount Nugent is 63 miles from Dublin and its International Airport and the nearest local Towns are Oldcastle, Virginia and Cavan. There are other well-known lakes and rivers nearby as well as a local hunt, golf courses, riding stables and numerous places of interest.
