THE HOUSE

The House was designed by Architects Lardner & Partners of Dublin for a Mr Dean in the late 1960's. Mr Dean owned a Canadian Timber Mill, hence the extensive use of very high quality hardwoods throughout the House. Gaffney & Cullivan, Architects and Consulting Engineers, who carried out an inspection for the current owners reported "This House is one of the best designed, constructed, and maintained premises that we have seen in over 25 years of inspections" (Full Report available).

All the windows in the House are purpose built double glazed sealed units in natural teak frames with locks, catches and stays in brass.

Forced warm air Central Heating is provided to every room in the House via adjustable floor vents. Cool air can be circulated in hot weather. The system is powered by an oil fired Furnace that requires little or no maintenance.

Domestic hot water is provided by a commercially sized oil fired Boiler.

There is a secondary Central Heating system of hot water Radiators provided to parts of the house by the Tirolia solid fuel Cooker.
